Bandits No Match for a Freeman

Game 4: Toronto Maple Leafs at Burlington Bandits - May 23, 2015

Leafs win 10-8

Newcomer Jason Freeman wasted no time making an impact in his first game for the Toronto Maple Leafs this afternoon in Burlington.  The right fielder blasted two home runs and six RBIs as the Leafs roared out to a huge early lead, then hung on for a 10-8 win over the still-winless Bandits at Nelson Park.

Four different Leafs each contributed to the offensive onslaught with an RBI of their own: shortstop Connor Lewis, first baseman Jon Waltenbury, catcher Will Richards, and DH Johnathan Solazzo.

Starter Marek Deska went five innings for his second win of the young season, and Christian Botnick locked down the save by pitching a scoreless 9th inning.

TORONTO 10-13-2
BURLINGTON 8-13-1

W - Deska (2-0, 3.85)
L - Corrente (0-1, 10.28)
S - Botnick (1)

BOXSCORE

The Leafs are now 2-2 and tied for 4th place, 2.5 games behind the undefeated London Majors.  Their next game is back home at the Pits, tomorrow (May 24) against the Hamilton Cardinals.
