The Toronto Maple Leafs were beaten 5-2 by the Brantford Red Sox at Arnold Anderson Stadium tonight.

The game was effectively over after the first inning.  The hosts used a pair of doubles to score four runs off starter Justin Cicatello, and they never looked back.

Over the first seven innings, the Leafs were held to just three hits.

Sox starter Nathan Forer's shutout bid was spoiled in the top of the 8th when Connor Lewis marked his return to the club with a solo home run.  The Leafs scratched out one more run when Ryan White doubled and scored on an error.  That would be it as Tanner Guindon came in to close out the win for Brantford.

Toronto 2-5-1
Brantford 5-9-3

W - Forer (3-0, 1.24)
L - Cicatello (2-1, 4.33)
S - Guindon (1)

BOXSCORE

The Maple Leafs are now 5-4 and tied for fourth place in the IBL standings.  Their next game is back home at Christie Pits this Sunday, June 5 when they host the Burlington Bandits.
