The Toronto Maple Leafs, their friends, family and followers were all saddened by the news that Lou Marra, father of players Dan, Justin and Adam Marra, passed away unexpectedly this week.

Year after year, Marra was a familiar presence at Leafs games, both at Christie Pits and on the road. Always approachable and happy to have a friendly chat about the game, he was as much a part of the team as his sons on the field. The news came as a terrible shock.

The Leafs travelled to London last night for a game with the Majors, with an understandably depleted roster. They went without a DH and a couple of players slotted into positions they don't normally play.

They ended up on the losing side of an 11-3 score, but the result of the game would not have been foremost on anyone's mind for this difficult trip.

Toronto 3-9-1
London 11-15-2

W - Montero (4-3, 3.06)
L - Cicatello (2-1, 5.06)

BOXSCORE

The Leafs return to Christie Pits on Sunday afternoon to take on the Brantford Red Sox.
