2022 Postseason - Opener Washed Out, Quarterfinals Schedule Revised

The Leafs held a 4-2 edge in the season series over Barrie.

 

The 2022 IBL postseason is upon us, and the Toronto Maple Leafs will face the Barrie Baycats in a first round quarterfinal.

The classic rivalry will be renewed starting Thursday night, up in the land of the moose and black bear.

In separate games this summer, the Leafs shut out and blew out the Baycats en route to winning the season series 4-2.  The Leafs will be favoured in the quarterfinal, but it will not be an easy stroll through the boreal forest.  The series should produce fireworks on par with the northern lights.  Don't forget your bug spray.

UPDATE: After a near-perfect summer of ballgames under the sun and stars, the Leafs have been rained out three times this week.  Thursday night's scheduled series opener in Barrie was washed out by a deluge of late afternoon rain.

The series will now kick off at the home of the Leafs on Friday night.

Game 1 - Friday, August 26 - Barrie Baycats vs Toronto Maple Leafs, 7:30 pm at Christie Pits

Game 2 - Saturday, August 27 - Toronto Maple Leafs at Barrie Baycats, 4:00 pm at Vintage Throne Stadium

Game 3 - Sunday, August 28 - Barrie Baycats vs Toronto Maple Leafs, 2:00 pm at Christie Pits
