Leafs win 6-4
It's, it's, a Brantford Blitz.
This quarterfinal series is turning into quite the matchup between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Brantford Red Sox. The clubs have been taking turns teeing off on each other. Last night at Arnold Anderson Stadium it was the Leafs' turn as they walloped three home runs off starter Nate Forer en route to a 6-4 victory.
The series is now tied two games apiece.
Leafs home run leader Justin Marra led the way with solo blasts in the second and third inning. Johnathan Solazzo's solo shot in the sixth helped knock Forer out of the game. Grant Tamane and Ryan White also drove in a run each.
Starter Mike Wagner held the Sox at bay for 8.1 innings and limited them to four earned runs for the win.

Brantford rallied late but Justin Cicatello came on in the ninth to quell the uprising.
It's now a best of three contest, and it still feels like the best game of the series is yet to be played.
Game Recap:
The August heat wave continues to press down on Ontario and last night was no exception as the Brantford Red Sox hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs for Game 4 of their quarterfinal series. Nate Forer took to the mound against his opposite, Mike Wagner.
Brantford protested in the bottom of the 1st, apparently over Wagner's status in the game. The home plate umpire duly noted their request, and the game continued.
Forer retired the side to start the game.
In the bottom of the 1st, Brantford put a run on the board. Wagner walked Benjamin Bostick and Chris Dennis to start off. Both runners advanced on a sacrifice by Tyler Patzalek, and Bostick scored on a groundout by Josh McCurdy. 1-0 for the home side after one.
Catcher Justin Marra led off a big 2nd inning for Toronto with a solo home run. Third baseman Johnathan Solazzo got aboard with a walk and rightfielder Brendan Keys singled. Shortstop Ryan White followed with an RBI single that drove in Solazzo. White was out on a fielder's choice hit by centerfielder Connor Lewis, and Keys scored on the play. Leftfielder Grant Tamane singled next, but an error by Forer allowed him to move all the way to third base and Lewis scored. That made it 4-1 Toronto after the 2nd.
In the top of the 3rd, Justin Marra hit another solo homer off Forer and extended Toronto's lead to 5-1 through three innings.
Wagner escaped some threats in the 2nd and 3rd, then retired the side in the 4th and 5th.
Forer lasted into the 6th before surrendering another solo home run, this time off the bat of Solazzo. Matt Betts came on in relief to finish the inning for Brantford, but it was now 6-1 for the visitors midway through six.
The Red Sox clawed back a couple of runs in the bottom of the inning. McCurdy led off with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch. Nic Burdett then tagged Wagner for a two-run home run to make it 6-3 Toronto through six.
Matt Martinow and Jose Vasquez worked through the top of the 7th and the Leafs stranded the bases loaded.
Wagner again retired the side in the bottom of the 7th and the 8th.
The Red Sox were down to their final three outs in the bottom of the 9th. With one out, Ricky Murray singled, then Brandon Dailey reached on an error. Justin Cicatello got the call and took to the mound. He got Bostick to fly out, but the Sox put one run on the board before Cicatello was able to nail down the third out and a 6-4 FINAL for Toronto.
