Maple Leafs 2016 Season Leaderboard

The Toronto Maple Leafs returned to their winning ways in 2016.  

Their 19-17 record was the first time they finished above .500 in five years.

Despite the recent spell of rough seasons, the Leafs continue to hold the IBL's highest win percentage among active teams, a testament to decades of excellence for the team in triple-blue.

One of the highlights of this season was newcomer Justin Marra's pursuit of the IBL home run crown.  After a quiet start, Marra launched 11 bombs in the month of July, including five in the final four games of the season.  His 16 homers fell one short of the title (won by Kitchener's Tanner Nivins), but by season's end his every plate appearance became must-see viewing at Christie Pits.

On the mound, Justin Cicatello continued his strong season and led most pitching categories.  Apart from being the team's most consistent starter, at least once every season he delivers one of those jaw-dropping performances that have become his trademark.  This year it happened in May when he pitched 11 innings for a win in London.
